Win over the guests at your Super Bowl party with easy DIY football mugs and snack bags.
Instead of boring plastic cups, these football-themed items will score a touchdown with your party guests.
Football Mugs
1. Gather all your supplies
For this project you'll need a few items you can find around your house or at a craft store.
- Mason jars
- White tape
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Twine or string
- Brown paper
- Green sharpie
- Straws (preferably metal)
2. Take the top off a mason jar
3. Add white tape
Place one piece of long tape vertically down the mason jar and place three shorter pieces going horizontally across the longer piece of tape.
The goal of this is to make the tape look like the seams on a football.
4. Cut out a flag as a name tag
For extra decoration, you can add cute name tags to personalize the jars.
Cut the brown paper in the shape of a flag and hole punch the wider end.
5. Tie the flag around the jar
Wrap the twine around the top of the mason jar and tie on the flag.
6. Fill with ice and your favorite beverage
Finally, get your favorite party drinks and fill up your glass.
It will look most like a football when filled with a dark or brown beverage.
We tried soda, BOS Iced Tea and Mingle Mocktails' Blackberry Hibiscus Bellini.
Football Snack Bags
DIY Super Bowl snack bags are sure to be a touchdown at your party
1. Get tape and brown paper bags
This project requires only three supplies (plus a snack).
You'll need brown paper lunch bags, scissors and white tape.
Trick: If you don't have white tape, masking tape works just the same.
2. Cut the bag to size
The first step is to cut the bag down to the right size so you can stand the bag up and easily access your snacks.
3. Add the tape
The tape looks just like the tape on the mason jars.
Place one piece of long tape vertically down the bag and put three shorter pieces going horizontally across the longer piece of tape.
4. Fill the bag with a snack
Open up the bag and fill it with your favorite Super Bowl treat.
The bags are perfect for chips and popcorn, but you can also get more creative.
We also put Country Archer Meat Sticks and Bare Snacks in our bags.
