A federal judge in New York on Tuesday set a trial date for April 14 in the libel lawsuit Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor, brought against The New York Times.

The Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals faulted the trial judge for dismissing the case before the jury had reached a verdict.

The federal appeals court found issues "impugn the reliability" of the verdict.
