Verizon Communications has long enjoyed its position as the leading provider of mobile services in the United States

The company will pay $1 million to settle an investigation over a 2022 outage that prevented emergency calls, the Federal Communications Commission said.

Verizon will increase its prices for consumer and business customers.

The sale, reportedly worth up to $5 billion, would shift Verizon's focus to building its 5G network.

The app uses a list of known spam numbers to identify suspicious calls.

The free app can identify 300 million spam numbers; AT&T and Comcast are working on similar features to filter out bogus calls.
