Khloe Kardashian Says Lamar Odom Has Memory Issues After Overdose
The TV star said Lamar's "short-term memory isn't so good."
-- Khloe Kardashian has been keeping the public up to date on her estranged husband Lamar Odom's recovery since he overdosed last year. The reality TV star said Monday that the former NBA player is having challenges with his memory.
The "Kocktails With Khloe" host appeared on Monday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"His long-term memory is great," Kardashian, 31, said of Odom. "His short-term memory isn't so good, but I mean if I met someone earlier today I probably wouldn't remember either so I mean that's understandable. But he's great."
Kardashian added that Odom, who was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel this past October and later hospitalized, has been spending time with her sisters Kourtney and Kim's children.
"He loves family time," she added. "I think it makes him feel good to be around everyone too and to just be in a happy environment over obviously where he was."
Kardashian said Odom is finally ready to learn what happened to him.
"Every day he'll ask me, 'So what happened to me?' Like today specifically, he was like, 'How many tubes did I have in me again?' And I'm like, 'I don't know what's too serious to tell you,' but I'm honest," she said on "Ellen." "I'm like, 'Well, just a lot. I didn't count. I don't know.' But it's good that he wants to know these answers. Before he didn't want to know. He wasn't ready to know. So it's great that he's at the point that he's ready to know everything happened."
Kardashian and Odom, 36, split in late 2013 after four years of marriage. After Odom was hospitalized last year, Kardashian halted divorce proceedings while they focused on his recovery.
She clarified last week on "Good Morning America" that she's not focused on their future as a couple.
"I do believe that we're soul mates but...that's not even where my head is at," she explained. "I think people, they don't understand the severity of everything."
She added, "It's all about his health and my happiness and his happiness. And right now those are two individual things."
