All You Need to Know About Prince William and Duchess Kate's Trip to NYC
The royal couple will be making their first U.S. trip since 2011.
-- When Prince William and Duchess Kate land in the United States this weekend, they will take the Big Apple by storm.
The royal couple, both 32, will visit New York City alone, without their 1-year-old son Prince George. Prince William will also make a solo one-day trip to Washington, D.C.
“I think the focus will be very much on Kate; what she’s wearing, her growing baby bump and this next royal baby,” ABC News’ royal contributor Victoria Murphy said of Kate, who is now pregnant with the couple’s second child.
The trip will not just mark the couple’s first trip to the United States since 2011, it will also mark the first time Kate and William have each visited New York City.
The royals will have a packed agenda while in the city, with stops scheduled at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center, the Empire State Building, a Brooklyn Nets NBA basketball game and a benefit gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Prince William will also spend Monday of the trip in Washington, D.C., while Kate will remain in New York City.
While in New York City, William and Kate will stay at the famed Carlyle Hotel on the city’s Upper East Side.
