Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman, who split in 2010 after nearly five years of marriage, are working hard to amicably co-parent their son, Max, and it shows.

In this photo, taken on Sunday, the "Voice" judge, 32, and the music marketer, 36, stepped out with their 5-year-old son for a family outing in Venice Beach, Calif.

"For Max's sake, we keep in communication and try to be as civil as possible," Aguilera told People magazine immediately after their split. "I know in my heart we'll find some sort of ground where we'll eventually laugh together again and be OK for Max."

Aguilera, who has been working hard to slim down, has been dating Matthew Rutler for more than two years.
