— -- In Wednesday's episode of "Empire," Lucious Lyon's new artist Freeda challenged his son, Hakeem, to a rap battle by singing her new song, "Daddy's Little Girl."

The challenge had Cookie scared. Still, 'Keem went on Periscope to accept her challenge.

Later, Cookie began to believe that Hakeem could win. She was so confident in him that she made a bet with Lucious -- if Hakeem won, she'd be able to put out Jamal's album on her label, Lyon Dynasty. Lucious agreed...and when Cookie later won the bet, thanks to Hakeem, she was thrilled.

Hakeem was also in a celebrating mood, so much so that he decided to make an announcement: "I'm dropping my last name," he told the crowd.

Lucious congratulated him by saying sarcastically, "Congrats Mr. No Name." Gotta love him!

Behind closed doors, Hakeem was also winning in his personal life. His "girlfriend" Laura was ready to take their relationship to the next level, but she had to tell Hakeem that she was a virgin first. "We can take our time," Hakeem assured her. "We don't gotta rush."

Still, across town, Anika realized she was pregnant...and it was Hakeem's baby! She tried to tell him, but he put her in the friend zone by telling her that he's in love with Laura.

But when Laura was leaving the club with Hakeem after he won the rap battle he called Laura an Uber. But when the driver pulled up, viewers saw that Anika was behind the wheel. She cryptically warned Laura, "Buckle up!"

Meanwhile, Pepsi asked Jamal to write a song for their new campaign. And with help from his mother and father, who bumped heads the entire time, he created a song worthy enough for the company.

Find out what happens to Laura on the next episode of "Empire," which airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
