— -- Fans are gearing up for one of the biggest movies of the entire summer: "X-Men: Apocalypse."

The film finds the mutant superheros battling the world's first mutant, Apocalypse, (Oscar Isaac), who recruits his Four Horsemen - Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Angel (Ben Hardy) to carry out his nefarious plans.

The cast stopped by "Good Morning America" today to discuss what it was like suiting up as the next generation of X-Men.

Tye Sheridan plays Cyclops -- the superhero who shoots red laser from his eyes, an ability that he admitted was the most challenging aspect of the role.

"It's me and Brian Smrz, our second unit director on set and we're shooting this big sequence in the third act of the film and [Smrz] is like, 'I just need to see more anger in your eyes'...so I'm trying to figure out how to use my forehead," Sheridan joked.

Alexandra Shipp stepped in to play a younger version of Storm -- famously played by Oscar-winner Halle Berry.

"I tried to just be a lot more animalistic about it and come from a younger aspect," Shipp said. "I think it really helped me kind of relate to Storm in a deeper level and be like, 'Oh, that's why she does what she does all the time, cause she thinks she knows best.'"

Lana Condor plays Jubilee, the mutant with the power to shoot bright, energy bursts from her hands.

Condor found out she was chosen for the part just before she graduated from high school.

"I found out I got cast in my history class," she said. "I was super excited and of course I didn't pass any of my finals."
