Obama Looks To Cement Lead With Latino Voters at Univision's "Meet the Candidate" Event
President Obama will take the stage at a "Meet the Candidate" event hosted by Univision anchors Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas at 2 p.m. today at the University of Miami. Watch it live here.
Republican challenger Mitt Romney participated in the event yesterday. Click the following links to read a recap from last night, hear audience reactions and watch exclusive Univision clips.
Both televised events, filmed before a live audience, provide a space for the candidates to address issues important to the Latino community, including the economy, education and immigration.
"Hispanics will play a key role in electing the next president of the United States and these events will help address key issues so that the more than 20 million Hispanics expected to vote this year can make an informed decision," Cesar Conde, president of Univision Networks said in a statement.
The candidates agreed to the events after Ramos criticized the Commission on Presidential Debates for not choosing a Latino journalist to moderate one of the three debates.
