Karsen Liotta, the 23-year-old daughter of "Goodfellas" star Ray Liotta, posted a touching tribute to her late father on Instagram last week, following his death back in May.

"Those who knew him, loved him. You are the best Dad anyone could ask for," she wrote in the caption, alongside a throwback photo of herself as a young girl, being carried by her famous father.

"I love you," she added. "Thank you for everything."

Liotta's death was announced on May 26. A cause of death for the 67-year-old actor, who had been filming for the movie "Dangerous Waters" in the Dominican Republic when he died, was not revealed at the time of the announcement.

Among the first to respond to the post was writer-director Joe Carnahan, who directed Liotta in the acclaimed cop movie "Narc."

"He was just the best," Carnahan wrote in a comment.

The "Boss Level" filmmaker previously posted a lengthy tribute to the star when news broke of his passing, saying in part, "I will never be able to adequately describe what this man did for me."

In addition to daughter Karsen, Liotta left behind fiancee Jacy Nittolo.

Liotta explained in an interview on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" in 2021 that it was his daughter who first introduced him to Nittolo.

Liotta said Karsen was friends with Nittolo's son Chazz, and after meeting Nittolo said she thought the two would hit it off.

The couple announced their engagement in December of 2020.

"Ray and I share a deep love that I will cherish in my heart forever," Nittolo wrote in an Instagram post on May 28, days after Liotta's death. "... He was everything in the world to me and we couldn’t get enough of each other. The kind of real love that one dreams of."

"He was the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever known…and even that is an understatement," she added.
