A new ABC News / Washington Post Poll shows 58 percent of the country supports the right of same-sex couples to wed. That's up from 32 percent nine years ago. Add to that the high profile endorsements of gay marriage by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and sitting Republican Sen. Rob Portman and it seems like Americans are in the midst of a major shift in attitude. At the end of March the Supreme Court is set to hear challenges to a state and federal law that curb the rights of same-sex couples to marry.
