Batman Star Adam West Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Adam West of TV's Batman received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday. The 83-year-old West was honored with the 2,468th star on the walk of fame. His star is located in front of the Guinness Museum in Hollywood. West holds the Guinness world record for the most screen appearances as Batman, 156.
West told the assembled crowd he was honored and appreciated the moment.
West is still working after more than five decades in Hollywood. He currently provides the voice of the mayor on TV's Family Guy. The show's creator, Seth McFarlane, attended the walk of fame ceremony and told West he will still be active years from now. McFarlane told West, "It is my hope that at age 110, I will see you at Family Guy conventions, signing autographs for a whole new generation of loners and psychopaths.
Batman aired on ABC from 1966 to 1968. No word if the Cape Crusader's boy wonder, Robin, was on hand for the event.
