Offensive jokes were expected at the taping of Comedy Central's "Roast of Roseanne" over the weekend, but the folks watching at home won't see or hear comedian Jeffrey Ross' most controversial joke when the roast airs on TV, reports EW.com.

Ross took aim at fellow red-headed roaster Seth Green and compared him to accused Aurora, Colo., shooter James Holmes, and then said, "I'm kidding! You're not like James Holmes. At least he's doing something in a movie theater that people remember."

That joke reportedly will not be included in the 90-minute special featuring celebrities roasting Roseanne Barr. The program will premiere on Comedy Central Sunday at 10 p.m. ET
