Brandon T. Jackson to Star in 'Beverly Hills Cop' Reboot
Brandon T. Jackson will star as Eddie Murphy's son in CBS' reboot of "Beverly Hills Cop," Deadline reports.
The television show is a sequel to the first three "Beverly Hills Cop" films, in which Murphy starred. The series will follow Jackson's character, Aaron Foley, who works to halt the criminal antics of Beverly Hills' rich and famous, while trying to escape the shadow of his famous Detroit detective father, Axel Foley, played by Murphy. Murphy, who is the executive producer of the show, will appear in the pilot and some episodes if the show is picked up for a series.
Murphy is a fan of actor-comedian Jackson and chose him for the role, Deadline reports. Jackson has had several small film roles including appearances in 2009's "Fast & Furious" and "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief." He is best-known for his role in 2008's "Tropic Thunder" alongside Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.
