Actor Edward Furlong, best known for playing the teenage John Connor in "Terminator 2," has been sentenced to 180 days behind bars for violating probation.

The actor was sentenced Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court for violating his probation by using force against his ex-girlfriend Monica Keena, and for violating a protective order that stated he was not permitted to have any contact with Keena, the Associated Press reported.

The 35-year-old Furlong has been the subject of restraining orders filed by both his estranged wife and Keena.

The order related to Keena went into effect after Furlong was accused of attacking her at a Los Angeles airport last October. He was accused of violating the order when he allegedly attacked her again in January.

In 2010, Furlong was placed on three years' probation after he violated a civil protective order obtained by his estranged wife, Rachael Kneeland.
