So, why the darker 'do and facial hair? It's likely for a role: McGregor recently signed on to star in the indie Western "Jane Got A Gun," opposite Natalie Portman. In the movie McGregor, 42, will play the villainous leader of an outlaw gang that is out to kill Natalie Portman's husband and take her land.

The movie, which is currently in production, has gotten off to a rocky start: McGregor is assuming the part after Bradley Cooper dropped out of the project.

"That was simply a scheduling thing," Cooper explained to the Huffington Post. "Everything worked out for the best because they got Ewan McGregor. If they could have gotten him at the outset, I would have never gotten offered the role, I'll tell you that."
