Look out Kobe Bryant.

He’s mean.  He’s lean.  And he can dribble on all fours.

He’s “ Petey the Border Collie” and, when it comes to basketball, he’s in a puppy league all his own.

You may recognize Petey from his days as a volleyball star on YouTube.  Turns out this pup can lace up his sneakers and work the basketball court too.

Yes, Petey can dunk, he can rebound and he can assist.   He even does a victory dance at the end of his nothing-but-net baskets.

Don’t believe it?  Take a look:

Petey’s owner says he wears special booties to protect his feet on the court.  No word on endorsements from Nike, though, just yet.

Petey does have some leverage over Nike-endorsed NBA stars like Bryant though.  His puppy league shows no signs of a lockout.

So now, thanks to Petey, you just may have something to keep you entertained this basketball season.
