ABC News' "Good Morning America" won the week, ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 (1.851 million) for week of July 23, 2012 , according to Nielsen Media Research. In winning the final week leading up to the Summer Olympics in London, "GMA" outdrew "Today" (1.839 million) by +12,000 Adults 25-54, shattering "Today's" 879-week streak at No. 1, to win in the key adults demo for the first time in nearly 17 years - since w/o 9/11/95. Additionally, in June 2012, 22.3 million people visited Goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo!.

In addition, "Good Morning America" won in Total Viewers (4.837 million), stretching its streak at No. 1 to 5 straight weeks, its longest run at No. 1 in more than 18 years - since an 8-week streak from w/o 4/25/94 through w/o 6/13/94. Increasing its Total Viewer lead over "Today" for the 3rd week in a row, "GMA" led the NBC morning newscast (4.295 million) by its largest advantage (+542,000) in more than 17 years - since w/o 5/8/95. Further, for the first time in 20 years, "GMA" won the week before the Olympics in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 - since the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

For the 3rd week running, "GMA" beat "Today" in Total Viewers in all 5 head-to-head telecasts (Mon: +930,000, Tues: +477,000, Wed: +373,000, Thurs: +637,000 and Fri: +297,000). In fact, "GMA" has beaten "Today" for 16 consecutive days (7/6 - 7/27/12), posting "GMA's" longest stretch of consecutive single-day Total Viewer wins in more than 17 years - since a 19-day streak from 4/26 - 5/22/95. Further, "GMA" held the top 5 most-watched telecast of the week for the 2nd week in a row.

In addition , "GMA" ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 on 2 days during the week: Monday (+265,000 - 1.879 million vs. 1.714 million) and Thursday (+295,000 - 2.034 million vs. 1.769 million). Further, "GMA's" Thursday airing stood as the top Adults 25-54 telecast the week, marking the 3rd week in a row that "GMA" has owned the week's No. 1 telecast in both overall viewers and in the key adult demo.

Season to date, "GMA" has cut its gaps with "Today" by more than half in both Total Viewers (-60%) and Adults 25-54 (-52%) versus its year-ago season gaps. In fact, "GMA" is posting its smallest margins with "Today" in 17 years in Total Viewers (302,000) and Adult 25-54 (346,000) - since the 1994-95 season.

Season to date "GMA" is the only morning program to grow in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+6%) versus its year-ago averages (NBC's "Today:" -5%/-10%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning:" -6%/-8%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 6 years, since 2005-06.

July 2012 Sweep

ABC News' "Good Morning America" won the 2012 July Sweep in Total Viewers (4.597 million), scoring its first sweeps victory in nearly 17 years - since November 1995 . "GMA" beat NBC's "Today" (4.248 million) by 349,000 viewers, delivering its largest sweeps advantage over the NBC program in more than 17 years - since May 1995.

In Adults 25-54, "GMA" (1.720 million) ran neck-and-neck with "Today" (1.744 million) during the 2012 July sweep. With only 24,000 demo viewers separating the two programs, "GMA" delivered its closest sweeps performance with "Today" in Adults 25-54 in 18 years - since July 1994.

For the 2nd year in a row, "GMA" was up over the previous July sweep in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%). In fact, "GMA" attracted its largest overall July sweep audience in 7 years - since July 2005.

"GMA" dominated "Today" in Total Viewers during the July 2012 sweep, outdelivering the NBC program in 18 of 20 head-to-head telecasts. In Adults 25-54, "GMA" beat "Today" in 10 of 20 head-to-head telecasts. In fact, "GMA" turned in its most single-day sweep victories in Total Viewers in more than 17 years and highest number in Adults 25-54 in 18 years - since May 1995 and July 1994, respectively.

C3 ratings for week of July 9, 2012

Based on the most-recent numbers of Nielsen's C3 Ratings data (Commercial Ratings + 3 Day Playback) for the week of July 9, 2012, ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in both Total Viewers (4.458 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.630 million) for the 2nd consecutive week. In addition, "GMA" scored its largest-ever C3 leads over "Today" (4.034 million and 1.563 million, respectively) in both Total Viewers (+424,000) and Adults 25-54 (+67,000) - since C3 data became available in 2007 . Commercial Ratings + 3 Days of Playback are the television industry's currency used to broker sales to advertisers.

"GMA" turned in its first-ever back-to-back C3 wins over "Today" in Adults 25-54, while leading the NBC program in Total Viewers for the 3rd week in row. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in 10 of the last 14 weeks.
