Airlines, Hotels Brace for Hurricane Sandy

Sunday brought hundreds of flight cancellations, with more scheduled for Monday as airlines prepare for Hurricane Sandy to hit the Northeast.
As of Sunday morning, United Airlines had cancelled more than 300 of the day's flights, according to data from FlightAware.
The other legacy carriers - Delta, US Airways and American - were so far sticking to their Sunday flight schedule as of 7 a.m. JetBlue and Virgin America has canceled 51 and 24, respectively.
Monday looks as if it will bring more travel woes as the storm is expected to make landfall in the northeast.

United has canceled almost 800 flights while JetBlue has canceled more than 550, FlightAware's tracking showed.
Many more cancellations from other carriers are expected.
Hotels are offering special rates for those in need of place to stay.
Kimpton hotels in New York City and Boston are offering 20 percent off rates with the promo code SANDY.
The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown in Washington, D.C. is offering a special rate of $229 with complimentary parking and fee wi-fi. Airlines are not required to provide hotel rooms to travelers stranded due to weather.
