How Did You Announce You were Pregnant?
Announcing I was pregnant 11 years ago was one of the highlights of my life. Getting that way had taken several years and the help of a physician. When it finally was a reality, I was bursting with the news. Strangers on the street were hearing about it.
Poor unsuspecting strangers who felt obligated to smile, nod and give me a hug.
Strangers are one thing, but for family an announcement of this proportion requires a small production.
Since my husband is a radiologist, we decided that the initial ultrasound picture should be part of the reveal. I created a scrapbook for both sets of impending grandparents that started with various pictures of the family, us, the dog, our cats and ending with the treasured ultrasound.
We traveled to each family and casually {as casually as possible} gifted the scrapbook. It was greeted with thanks and a flip-through.
And then a pause.
Is this what I think it is?
A nod was followed by squeals of delight and hugging and laughing and more hugging and questions and more hugging.
Sharing this secret is just fun. I looked around for some creative ways to Tell You are Pregnant and loved these:
