Time Magazine's 2012 list of 100 most influential people in the world, released on Wednesday morning, featured a healthy mix of global leaders, artists and rebels as usual.
The ninth annual list, which will hit newsstands on Thursday, was compiled by editors at Time incorporating votes from the public.
First launched in 1999, the list has included only a few repeat influential people under specific categories. Oprah Winfrey reportedly has been in the list the most frequently, included nine times consecutively.
Here are some of the notable names in Time's list:
• Jeremy Lin • Viola Davis • Tim Tebow • Rihanna • Kristen Wiig • Anonymous • Andrew Lo • Chelsea Handler • Chen Lihua • Warren Buffett • Sheryl Sandberg • Tim Cook • Barack Obama • Tilda Swinton • Hillary Clinton • Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Pippa Middleton • Adele • Stephen Colbert
