And the winner is… the deep purple dress by designer Pamella Roland! Here’s what I looked like just before I left for the White House State Dinner:

I love this dress, and I love the wisdom of the masses… The mass crowd sourcing got it right! Almost 40 percent of the over SIX HUNDRED votes cast picked this dress! A classic look in a modern color that pops. It makes me happy.

My personal runner up was the back bejeweled dress, which was also the second choice of the voters. But it had the three things I said I didn’t want: black, strapless and not easily re-wearable. While it’s  perfect for a White House State Dinner, it’s almost too formal for most black-tie events.

The red roses dress is a show stopper in person, too, but I felt the purple was more comfortable and a little less fussy…
