Beyonce Spins Baby Buzz Into Maternity Line

People can’t stop talking about Beyonce and her pregnancy. Where is she carrying her weight? What will it be? Could her baby bump be — gasp — fake? (For the record, Beyonce’s publicist told ABCNews.com that reports suggesting the singer is wearing a prosthetic belly are “stupid, ridiculous and false.”)

Now, B’s spinning all that speculation into something worthwhile, a maternity collection for her House of Deréon clothing line.

“All I see now are clothes that are flattering on a pregnant woman,” she said in an interview for the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “It’s been so exciting for me. I love figuring out designs that still make me feel edgy and sexy while pregnant.”

Also edgy: She struts around in stilettos despite her growing belly.

“I’ve had so much fun with fashion over the months,” Beyonce said, adding that she spends “too much money shopping on the Internet.”

She’s about to make a lot of that money back, according to corporate brand strategist Marvet Britto.

“Not only will she be the best commercial for it, she’ll also be a poster child for filling a void,” Britto told ABCNews.com. “No other line has really had a youthful, sexy, progressive pregnant woman as their brand ambassador. I think it’s a brilliant branding strategy.”
