Jessica Simpson is going to be a mommy and a mummy.

The singer posted an enthusiastic tweet today — “!!!ANNOUNCEMENT!!!” — with a link to a post on her website saying “ It’s true! I am going to be a mummy!” and a photo of her dressed in white, mummy-like pieces of cloth, cradling her stomach.

To clarify Simpson’s play on words, Simpson’s publicist confirmed to ABCNews.com, “Yes, she’s going to be a mom.”

Simpson, 31, has showed off a growing belly for weeks but until now refused to confirm reports of her pregnancy. She’s been engaged to NFL player Eric Johnson since November 2010.
