Here are two people you probably didn’t picture sharing a bottle of wine together:  LeAnn Rimes and Maya Angelou.

The country singer sat down with the acclaimed author in Angelou’s North Carolina home recently for an interview that will be featured on Angelou’s upcoming Hallmark Channel show, “The Celebration Table.” Rimes told X17online about their conversation.

“We talked about forgiveness, marriage, children, poetry, music, food … and drank great wine together,” she said. “Her spirit is infectious. Meeting her changed my life. She’s a walking angel and the wisest person I’ve ever met. She invited Eddie, the kids and me back to her home soon for a few days because she wants to cook for us.”

According to X17, Angelou, 83, has been a fan of Rimes, 29, since the singer was 13-years-old. If Rimes’ comments are any indication, their friendship will last even longer.

“I’m happy to call her my friend and she calls me her daughter,” Rimes said. “What an honor.”
