Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are done.
“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” Moore said in statement from her publicist to ABCNews.com today. “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”
Kutcher posted his response on Twitter minutes after Moore’s announcement, writing, “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK.”
Kutcher also unfollowed Moore on Twitter. Her handle is currently @mrskutcher.
The couple has dodged reports about Kutcher’s alleged infidelities for months. Following 22-year-old Sara Leal’s claim that she and the “Two and a Half Men” star slept together in September, Moore and Kutcher were seen attending multiple Kabbalah sessions, seemingly trying to mend their marriage.
But Moore’s cryptic tweets pointed to serious problems. In early September, she tweeted a photo of her naked back with the message, “remember…..you’ve got your own back.” The day before their sixth wedding anniversary, amid reports about Kutcher’s transgressions with Leal, Moore quoted the philosopher Epictetus: “When we are offended at any man’s fault, turn to yourself and study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger.”
Moore, 49, and Kutcher, 33, have been married since 2005. She was previously married to Bruce Willis for 13 years.

This is very sad. But I am glad they have reached a decision and wish them the best on their new paths. I think ultimately, Demi will be better off.

If it’s about him cheating, Demi you are old enough to know most men cheat. If it’s about him cheating with such a silly skank, then ok, I would be upset to. Besides you are turning 50. You were about to get real bored with him anyway. Lot of mature, still hot 50-something men available. Problem is, like your ex, they are chasing much younger women.

It’s a wonder any marriage can survive in Hollywood, especially between two stars. I for one thought that their marriage was solid and lasting despite the age difference. But I am an optimist and always look for the good in any situation. I hope they both find what they want in life and send them my best wishes.

Hollywood was the gateway drug , their stardom of twitter & all that that’s about got them. twitter can be useful, but to tweet your every thought on every day or on a regular basis to feed your fans….it’s gonna catch up & it did & u know they aren’t a good couple anyway. They were an anomaly. Seemed like Demi wore the pants & Ashton finally got some independence with his latest gig. I’d be gone too. I’ve hung around girls who are too perfect & have to have things a certain way…it sucks after a while no matter how good lookin she is. We must all live with nature, & not try to defy it, if u try to defy it, it will slap u in the head so hard, u will cry.

Duh! Go Ashton! As men get older they prefer younger chicks. I’m 43 and since I dumped my wife who is 44 I go out with women in their mid 20′s to early 30′s (I look younger) … I love it! It’s like having a new puppy! I can’t blame him. marriage is dumb and doesn’t mean anything nowadays……it has nothing to do with family units. They are dead in America! Good luck Playa! lol! Wow, she is 16 years older than Ashton! Some girls become mothers at that age, although that’s too young I think, but you get my drift. She was too old for him. It’s not a tragedy they’re divorcing. Many marriages don’t last half as long as theirs did. It’s time to move on. Ashton seems like a gentleman, and wasn’t she fooling around with his friend who is in his 20′s? For gawd’s sake, she’s no angel.

As for the female that said all men cheat – you’ve got to be kidding. It’s sad that you only know of cheaters, what a sad life that must have been for you. All men do NOT cheat! The men that cheat do so because (1) they haven’t yet grown up and don’t want responsibility, or (2) they have some physiological issue that prevents them from committing to anything long term, or (3) They are unhappy and the wife cant or wont fix it OR he don’t want to tell her he’s unhappy in fear of hurting her or losing her, in this case he cheats to fill the void he’s lacking and attempts to be discreet so he can keep the love he still has with his wife, or (4) he’s done with the marriage and doesn’t know how to voice it, so he cheats in hopes to get caught ….. for the most part, happy, secure, honest, mentally healthy, and God fearing men do not cheat!!!
