Katie Holmes Open to ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion
Katie Holmes has come a long way from her days playing teen Joey Potter on the hit “Dawson’s Creek,” but the actress says she’s open to reprising the role in a reunion.
“It would be fun,” Holmes told Robin Roberts on “ Good Morning America.” “I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories. A really great group of people.”
The actress was 20 when she landed the role as the ultimate girl next door on the series and went to Wilmington, N.C., to work with James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson and Michelle Williams, who were then all relative unknowns at the time. The series lasted for six seasons, became a cult favorite and catapulted the entire cast to fame. Rumors of a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion have swirled online on fan sites for years.
Now Holmes, 32, is a bona fide movie star, a mom and married to one of Hollywood’s biggest superstars, Tom Cruise. The actress revealed she wouldn’t shy away from teaming up with her famous husband on-screen.
“If it’s the right thing, why not? He’s amazing,” she said.
Holmes, whose latest role is alongside funnyman Adam Sandler in the new comedy “Jack and Jill,” said she’s ready for the new phase of her career.
“I just feel like I’m now ready for parts that maybe I wasn’t ready for in my twenties. There’s a lot that I want to do. I have a lot in development,” she said. “It’s an exciting time.”
