Miley Cyrus Fights Fat Attacks on Twitter

Pop superstar Miley Cyrus has shown off her body in music videos and racy photos, but lately, the 18-year-old singer and actress has been on a weight rollercoaster. Her fuller figure has some critics saying she’s lost control of her body.
Now the former “Hannah Montana” star is firing back at her critics, on Twitter.
On Nov. 11 the teen star posted a photo of an emaciated woman alongside a Tweet to her more than three million followers, writing, “By calling girls like me fat, this is what you’re doing to other people.”
She added, “I love MYSELF & if you could say the same… I don’t wanna be shaped like a girl I LOVE being shaped like a WOMAN & trust me ladies your man won’t mind either.”
Cyrus also shared a snapshot of blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe with the caption, “Proof that you can be adored by thousands of men even when your thighs touch.”
Cyrus’s tweets come after a barrage of critical jokes and videos on YouTube with titles like “Miley Cyrus is 213 Pounds.”
The singer was assisted in her fight back on Twitter by her best friend and fellow pop star Demi Lovato, who tweeted, “I will destroy any one that ever calls you the F (fat) word. You have the SEXIIIESTTTT curvyyyy body! I LOVE IT! Werk (work) those curves.”
Lovato has been open with her own, personal struggles with weight issues, checking into rehab last year for an eating disorder among other issues.
“I became very depressed, and my only way of really coping with it was through my eating disorder. So I just stopped eating,” Lovato told ABC News’ Robin Roberts after being released from rehab earlier this year.
One person not criticizing Cyrus’s eating habits is her boyfriend of two years, 21-year-old Australian actor Liam Hemsworth.
In a new interview with Who magazine, the star of “The Hunger Games” said, “There is this place in Nashville called Steak and Shake, which is pretty much the best food, ever. That is our secret, sexy place to go. When I look over at her when she’s biting into a steak sandwich and there is some steak sauce dripping down her chin, there is nothing sexier than that.”
Cyrus herself will next be heard, but her figure will not be seen, on the big screen. Earlier this month she joined the cast of Hotel Transylvania, voicing the teenage daughter of Count Dracula in the forthcoming animated 3D comedy.

As a mother of 4 girls, two of whom grew up watching Hannah Montana…it is distressing to see yet another star being scrutinized for gaining some weight. Girls have enough pressures in their teen years without the media making a big deal whenever some star new or old gains some weight. Why is this news? Publicizing this kind of information will on make more girls look at themselves and question whether or not they are fat. This is NOT news and the media needs to stop making this kind of drivel newsworthy!

She looks GREAT!! She has a tremendous figure and finally a girl/young woman who doesn’t look like she’s just been released from Andersonville prison. In addition, when she’s older she will still retain good looks because her body won’t have eaten itself due to starvation. Remember folks, pictures also add pounds to the image.

This is hysterical. This is insane. Gained weight? What, 3 pounds? She looks to me to be about a size six. If that. Since when is THAT considered fat? We have totally lost control in this country of what we consider fat. If I can look at some one like her, who’s had photos taken in a bikini several times this year, and think, wow, what a perfect body, then the media and catty girls can try to tell me I was imagining she was perfect. Something is wrong. She. Is. Not. Overweight. At all. And what her boyfriend said, cutest and sexiest thing I’ve heard in a long time.

Let’s see…she works in Hollyweird. The land where adolescent boy bodies reign! The less curves, you have the better. God forbid your hip bones don’t show, and your ribs aren’t visible beneath your skin! (eye roll) She is more than likely at a weight that is normal for her, rather than trying to maintain a size that isnt. Once again, I don’t see why for the life of me, celebs bother with Twitter! I wouldnt bother with that crap. Heck, I don’t have a Twitter page…its rather useless, plus I don’t follow any damn body!

Miley Cyrus is beautiful, as always. I agree 100% with Erin. Good for Miley–and for her boyfriend–for not taking this nonsense to heart. Calling her names just smacks of jealousy.

Size 2 or 12, it doesn’t really matter–being healthy and fit is more important. I’ve known bony-azzed girls at 30% body fat who couldn’t run around the block; and size 14 triathletes at 20% body fat who could out-swim, out-cycle and out-run most of the simple-minded men posting here.

Wow! I weigh 135 and am 5’9′ I must really be fat!! Miley is talented and more beautiful than she has ever been. Stand her next to the ugly people talking crap about her and I bet ‘we would see a huge difference.’ Leave Miley alone and get a life. There was never a time that I thought she wasn’t tending towards fat. If my daughter looked liked Miley, I’d put her on a strict diet. She doesn’t need it just yet, but it’s time to curb where she’s headed.
