Nicki Minaj Loves Robin Roberts’ ‘Party Rock’ Halloween Costume
“ Good Morning America” celebrated Halloween Party Rock-style, as dozens of dancers, led by Josh Elliott and Sam Champion, descended on the Times Square studio to shuffle to LMFAO’s hit “Party Rock Anthem.” Our anchor team got in the Halloween spirit, channeling the hottest music superstars from the “GMA” Concert Series.
Robin Roberts dressed up as the spirited, bestselling rap artist, Nicki Minaj, rocking a colorful wig, a neon outfit, and the star’s signature hot-pink pout. But what did the ultimate judge, Nicki Minaj herself, think?
The “Super Bass” singer gushed over Roberts’ costume today on “GMA.”
“Robin, you are an honorary barb now,” Minaj said. “You looked so epic. I could not believe that was the same conservative, little lady transformed like that.”
“Oh, honey, I got you fooled,” Roberts said, laughing.

Minaj was the year’s most-searched celebrity Halloween costume, according to Google, beating out pop culture phenoms like Charlie Sheen and Captain America to make the cut.
“It’s really indescribable. I don’t even realize that I was dressing up that wild that someone would think of it as a costume,” she said. “I’m like, ‘What do I dress up as?’ Everyone is going to dress up as me, what does this mean to me?!”
The costume pressure may have been too much for Minaj, who opted not to dress up this Halloween. But next year, she wants to be Robin Roberts.
“Had I thought about it, that would have been epic,” she said. “I could have come on the show dressed as Robin.
Minaj also complimented Josh Elliott and Sam Champion’s dancing skills. (The duo dressed up as the freakishly funky stars of LMFAO).

“I was wondering if you would be part of my new video or something. I mean, it was just phenomenal,” she said.
Minaj, the number one rap star of the year, and the bestselling female rap artist of the decade, is up for three American Music Awards. She will host along with Pitbull and perform during the show, which airs Sunday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
