Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey Cozy Up in New Music Video
EmailThe annual lighting of the Christmas tree at New York City’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” event saw a slew of performances from top musical acts Wednesday night, but the headliner Justin Bieber caught the most attention with the premiere of his latest video for the single “All I Want for Christmas is You” featuring Mariah Carey.
After performances by newer musicians like Michael Bublé, Katharine McPhee, Big Time Rush and legends Tony Bennett, Carole King and Neil Diamond, the teen heartthrob hit the stage at the packed event and performed tracks from his Christmas album, “Under the Mistletoe.”
Bieber, 17, was even joined by Busta Rhymes for a performance of the track “Little Drummer Boy,” and left his fans swooning when he slowed the mood down when he was joined by Usher on “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).”
But the main event was the premiere of Bieber’s latest video, where he joins Mariah Carey for a version of her 1994 megahit. The two are seen singing in a department store, her in a sexy Santa Claus outfit and he doing some holiday shopping with some pals. Later in the clip Justin and Mariah hand out gifts to crowds in the store.
The singers then get flirty and a bit risqué when they end up in a sleigh, where they get cozy and cuddle.
The classic hit from Carey’s album “Merry Christmas” was re-recorded by the 41-year-old diva and Bieber, and appears on his new holiday record.

I am so disappointed with Justin and this video. I realize he’s getting older, but his littlest fans will think its ok to dress and act like the sleaze that Mariah is in this video. I agree about the comment Mantisstrike made about corrupting a minor – gross! Sad part is, this video could’ve been done up so cute for Christmas, but she turned it into something provocative and dirty. Shame on you!!!

you people need to get over yourself there was nothing risque’ about that video, and i am not a big fan of either singer so could the video have done without mariah shaking her rear end..yes definetly. but there was nothing inappropriate about it at all. i do think her dress was on backwards though and he ais an awkward 17 yr old boy that does not make him gay. i find it so funny when men claim that the sight of a beautiful woman showing off her body especially after having twins recently is trashy becasue you know you are all watching hoping for a wardrobe malfunction..

totally inappropriate. this is what his early tween girl fans will watch? and think this is normal behavior by Mariah? it is not that Mariah is wrong here, just the target audience of young girls does not need to see Mariah shaking her butt and boobs at the camera. my ids will not see it again.

Give me a break. They are at two separate locations throughout most of the video. I’ve seen more cleavage at the grocery store. It’s two pop stars doing their thing and then sitting in a sleigh. jennifer lopez was a litlle over the top – but just trying to please Americans and “entertain”. i’m glad for the moral outrage – but you reap what you sew people! By the way: Justin is a great role model and loves his mother. That’s why people hate. They don’t recognze “good” anymore. Get over yourselves!

While she’s quite talented as a singer, her “tart” like rubbing all over herself and diva-like sex kitten antics are too predictable. Yes she had twins and rocks a hot mom body but could have been a lot less flirty and sexy. And the Beibs…he’s just boring, has an average voice, and oozes charming looks for the hormonal teenage set. Overall, cute video concept with the Macy’s Santa, the shopping, giving out the gifts and all but there is room for some improvement on this one. Less is always so much more and much classier.

She needed more dress, he needed to get his arrogant, swell-headed self doing some homework somewhere else. The singing on this video was so-so, and it didn’t need to be remade. He’s not cute, makes me gag, and I hate it when my tweens see this stuff. They think it’s real, not knowing that normal people don’t engage in sexual behavior as was included on this video. It definitely sweet, holiday fare. In fact, it should have an R rating slapped on it for its overt, over-the-top sexual message, as well as get a zero-star rating for questionable content, lack of ingenuity, and bad singing. Get off the stage.

I can’t believe nobody realizes this is ancient video of Mariah with Bieber spliced in. If you look close, you can see the real Mariah Carey — she’s the forty year old woman in the sleigh w/ Bieber. The girl dancing in the Santa suit was filmed at least ten, maybe fifteen years ago.

I remember many, many years ago…the hair bands (males) with young-looking girls/females in their videos. I think everyone just wants to hate on Mariah because she is mega-rich, a new mom, and recently lost tons of weight and looks really good. She is not one of my favorite performers, but this is a music video with a song for the seasons. The lyrics do not have any provocative meaning, and I didn’t get any provocative messages from the video either.
