Who Is ‘X Factor’ Winner Melanie Amaro?

gty melanie amaro jp 111223 wblog Who Is X Factor Winner Melanie Amaro?

Melanie Amaro during Thursday's "X Factor" finale.

Melanie Amaro, the newly-crowned winner of “The X-Factor,” is poised to be a big star. Below, check out three facts to know about her.

1. She plans to spend her $5 million prize in an unconventional way. Amaro told People magazine that her dream purchases would be a foot massage, a house for her mom, and a lifetime supply of chicken. ”Life will change a lot,” she said. “The most I have ever had before was $200, if I was lucky.” Of course, the majority of her money will go towards her debut record with Sony.

2. She’s spiritual. The 19-year-old, British Virgin Islands native is a devout Christian. She loves gospel music, and when she was named winner of “The X Factor,” pretty  much all she could exclaim was, “God is good!”

3. She’s a Twitter fiend. With more than 179,000 followers, Amaro’s got a full-fledged digital platform, and she uses it. “Thank you all sooo much for all your love and votes and dedication,” she tweeted this morning, “i really appreciate u all, my dream has come true #IHaveTheBestFans.”

Melanie deserved to win. She is extraordinarily talented and a delight to watch. The show, on the other hand, is a dog. I know that insults dogs and I don’t mean to. The phony bickering among the judges, the cra**y advice, the horrible production, including noise and poor audio, contribute to an overall negative feeling about the show. I watched it last night to see who won–but for most of the show I had the audio muted and read a novel through the awful parts, which was most of the show.

Throughout the series, the performers were sometimes asked what they would do with the $5 million, but that was deceptive, to say the least. It is a $5 million dollar recording contract, no doubt most of the money going to marketing. The record business is notoriously corrupt, with artists getting little of the profits. The artists make their money on live concerts while the record producers and promoters steal the majority of the record sales. In particular, LA Reed has proven himself to be a woman hater on the show and is a creep and stinkbomb, the product of too many years wheeling and dealing.

I wish Melanie all the best in her career. She is a wonderful talent and person and will become a huge star. Josh will also do very well, even though he didn’t win.

As for the show, I will not watch it again. It is annoying and the judges and judging are perverse. The judges don’t follow the rules they created (i.e. Nicole voting against Rachel so there would be a tie, and the folks at home would have the vote). I don’t think viewers ask much from a show, but we do demand fairness–and these dolts did not deliver.

All the judges are unfit to be judges, other than Simon. He is who he is, but at least provides some constructive and helpful critism. The rest are just useless, especially Paula and Nicole, who talk nonsense 99% of the time. Are they there to judge and help the contestants? They are a total disservice to the young and even older ones. All that declaration of love, and high praise, even when unwarranted, is especially sickening. They ought to be fired!! The show is not up to par with the both of them there. They are unfit and should be removed, otherwise this show is doomed to failure.

Melanie deserved to win – she has an incredible voice and her stage presence grew stronger with each performance. Josh is also very talented and deserves to go far with his talent. With that being said, I think the show would do a huge service to the viewers if they would find a way to turn down the volume of screaming from the audience as it basically overpowered the talented singers on the stage and made it nearly impossible at times to determine how good or bad they were. As for the judges, Nicole needs to go, she was not worthy of the position, and she may very well have been a huge talent for those she mentored, her ability to give any type of constructive criticism was seriously lacking and she’s just not right for that part of the job. The whole production of the numbers truly overshadowed whether the participants were talented or not, and if I am going to spend 2 hours of time watching performers, I would like to hear their voices, and not that of the backup singers and all the rest of the screaming overly loud audience. Will I watch it again – not likely, although I do believe Simon Cowell has the brains and music savvy to find some incredibly talented people among all the wannabes.

Melanie has an amazing voice but she is no different than the rest of the female singers out there. She just stood there and didn’t move or anythIng. She’s only 18 or 19 so only having 200$ is a pretty normal thing. I would not buy her cd because I have about 5 others that sound exactly like hers will. Josh has an awesome voice as well and good stage presence. Chris Rene has it all and I would buy his cd in a heartbeat. Everytime he performed I was entertained whether he sounded good or not. There’s no way the votes were accurate considering the phone lines were busy the whole time…

Melanie defiantly deserved to win. She had great stage presents and a phenomenal voice. What she did lack, her voice made up for completely. I believe Melanie has a unique talent and will go far. As of Josh krajick, he had a great voice and deserved 2nd place out of thousands. The judges spouted crap most of the time but it was all worth it to hear Melanie perform.
