‘Creepy and Weird’? Photog Discovers Young Models in Diner
Will restaurant patrons say anything when they see two attractive teens approached by a photographer promising to make their modeling dreams come true?
The Cloverleaf Tavern in Caldwell, N.J., is alight with camera flashes, and patrons are starting to notice.
“Can you pull your hair back so I can see?” asks the photographer, snapping pictures of the girls.
“This could be our big break!” the girls exclaim.
“That’s just creepy and weird,” one man says. “People don’t really do that.”
“I think it’s a really, really unsafe situation,” says his dining companion.
What they and the other customers don’t know is that the starry-eyed teens are in no danger. They’re actors, as is the aggressive photographer, all hired by “What Would You Do?” Will anyone else confront our faux photographer? Would you?
Watch the outrageous reactions below, and see the whole scenario play out on “What Would You Do?” tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

Is John Quiones a racist? Shouldn’t the show be called..”What will white people do? Only goes to white neighborhoods..It’s getting a little obvious.

This isn’t stupid, it’s actually a very real scenario. I witnessed this very thing several years ago after watching our high school’s girl cabaret perform in a local mall. After they were done with their song and dance, the girls came down from the stage. While I was standing next to two of the girls, a man approached the girls and handed them business cards and asked if they were interested in modeling because he thought they would be big stars. He told them to think about it and then give him a call. Fast as that he was gone. I looked at one of the girls and said to her “You aren’t actually going to contact him, are you?” She replied, “I don’t know, but it’s very flattering!” These guys prey on vulnerable and insecure young girls. I don’t know if the girls ever called, but I wish I was older and wiser back then. I sure would have taken more action to call attention to this guys disturbing behavior!

What an ignorant statement, I have seen several episodes where African Americans came to the rescue and where also the actors in the story.

I think this show is very liberal. And it’s goal is to convince people to be better in life. Also to get people to agree with same sex marriage and other scenarios. John Quiones also seems to be racist towards white people, trying to make them seem weak or bad. There are far more white people recorded than black. As for the scenarios involving children in danger or women in danger, I totally agree with helping out in the situation. Not so far as to call the cops since they can’t be trusted. Now days justice is best dealt with in other ways. And for the other scenario involving the laptop theft, I would simply turn my head and mind my own business. Nobody like a rat. And it is amazing to see how many of these people are rats. And everyone who watches this show, now knows that these people are rats. Shouldn’t the show be called “What Would You Rat On?”

That’s a tough one, because in today’s digital age and Facebook and Twitter and online chats, these girls should know and are old enough, so TOUGH LOVE, I would say if they were Ditzy enough to believe that Schpil then they deserve it, but being a parent I would hate to read their obituary or read some article of something like date rape of them. I’d like to slap those girls more than the Photographer. Slap some sense into them. It’s VERY RARE that a photographer scout does discovers new faces or talent in a restaurant.

I wonder if people would have reacted differently if the man was more dressed professionally?

@Kim, that may have been an actual modeling scout. The legit ones will approach, introduce themselves, hand them a card, and leave it at that. I do think it’s creepy though, when someone with a camera walks up to someone in public and asks to take photos. Legitimate talent scouts don’t and won’t photograph someone on the spot like that. It’s not their job to. @Stanley, you are correct, it is rare to be approached in a restaurant. But not if it’s in a mall, or other high traffic, public areas The article does bring to light a serious issue though. Talking to teens about the potential of this with predators. I have an 11 yr old daughter and until I read this, I never thought to ever tell her, hey beware of anyone who may say they’re a photographer, etc.

John Quinones thinks that he found a nitch, a golden mine. No! It’s simply boring. Life is life.
I would react to every situation I encounter in my life I wouldn’t have time for own life. His set up situation are ridiculous and boring. I have in fine classs restaurant two lesbians sit and start kissing all over. I simply get up and go. It’s not my business. The same with many situation he portrays all the time. People have a life. Just quit. It/s boring.

While this show would be intriguing if it were authentic, I don’t even bother watching these “reality” shows, they are all faked and manipulated. This show needs to air its unused, edited tape to see how people really react.
As for this episode, girls need to stop being “flattered” and defining themselves by how they look and other people’s approval. It’s a way to keep women down and insecure and not reaching for a more impactful role in the world.

for the model segment: notice how the two guys who responded were having lunch with their girlfriends! time to show their girlfriends that they would do the right thing, time to be the macho man. notice how the men having dinner with no women around don’t do anything.

Is ABC really that bad off that they need to write fake headlines for every article?

Lame show featuring unbelievable scenarios, then wondering what is wrong with society and why no one reacts except for the few useful idiots heralded brave enough to get involved with someone else’s business. Just goes to show that anything cheap and easy to make that can appear scandalous with creative editing will have a home at ABC.

“Mind your business” was the original American value. It appeared on the first currency authorized by Congress, designed by Benjamin Franklin. Nowadays it’s “see something, say something”.
Guess Orwell was right. He only got the date wrong.
