Did Kim Kardashian Stage Scene About Marriage Woes?
Kim Kardashian just kan't katch a break. First the divorce, then the backlash, then losing her Superbowl ad campaign to a dog, and now, this: The shocking allegation that her namesake reality show, "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," is staged. Gasp. The horror.
The website Reality Tea dug deep into a scene from the E! show that was purportedly taped in Dubai in October and discovered that the outfits Kardashian and her mom wear in it were seen in a paparazzi photo of them leaving a Los Angeles studio in December. In the scene, Kardashian confides in her mom about her new marriage. There's a noticeable change in audio and a smirk on Kris Jenner's face when her daughter says, "I don't know, I'm just like learning a lot of things about him that I didn't really know before, and, I don't know, married life just isn't what I thought it would be with him."
The paparazzi photo, the seeming insincerity of the exchange, and the car's blacked-out windows that show no scenery or background details has led Reality Tea and other blogs to speculate that the whole shebang was staged to make it seem like Kardashian struggled with her decision to divorce Kris Humphries. Adding fuel to the fire: a tabloid report that Kardashian planned out all the details of Humphries' proposal and wasn't surprised at all when he popped the question.
A representative for E! did not immediately respond to ABCNews.com's requests for comment. But Kardashian can take heart in the fact that she's not alone. A slew of other reality TV shows have been accused of engineering and/or re-shooting scenes in the past, including MTV's "Jersey Shore" and "The Hills."
