Comedian and “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan has been rushed to a hospital in Park City, Utah after falling over during an awards ceremony at the Sundance Film Festival.
Morgan was attending the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards in Park City where he was being honored with the Spotlight Initiative Award.
Morgan’s representative released a statement early Monday saying, “From a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention … He is with his fiance and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100 percent false.”
Amy Roberts, a spokeswoman for Park City Medical Center said that no drugs or alcohol was found in Tracy’s system upon medical evaluation. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the former “Saturday Night Live” star “was acting extremely inebriated, yelling and falling onto the ground.”
Morgan was reportedly escorted outside by security personnel, and fell unconscious outside of the building. Law enforcement sources stated that an ambulance was dispatched to the scene.
Actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. told ABC News, “he’s alright, he’s fine,” after consulting with friends of Morgan.
The Creative Coalition is a nonprofit organization that “educates and mobilizes leaders in the arts community on issues of public importance, specifically in the areas of First Amendment rights, arts advocacy and public education.”
Morgan co-stars with Jesse Eisenberg and Melissa Leo in the new film “Predisposed,” which is screening at the film festival. the star underwent a kidney transplant in December 2010.

“Exhaustion and Altitude”…translation: excessive partying. Where’s Mr. Hankey when you need him?

Normally I think that ‘exhaustion’ is a TERRIBLE and lazy excuse used by publicists – whenever I hear “exhaustion”, I immediately think “drunk” – but the hospital rep. states that no alcohol or drugs were found in his system. Altitude sickness can certainly cause symptoms of inebriation… of course it could just be a standard publicity BS…

People with sickle cell have organ problems at high altitude. Its possible Tracy Morgan and Nick Cannon have the diseasse.

He has diabetes. This condition plus the high altitude seems to be the way his body reacted. Drs. stated there were no was no alcohol, no drugs so please save your ugly comments and rather pray for his safe recovery.

@Replier…..toxicology reports came back pretty fast. Usually takes weeks. Either the Hospital is covering for him or being a 1%’er gets your tests pushed through faster.

Those are classic signs of low sugar….people will often act drunk, agitated and then lose consciousness. That actually seems like a more likely scenario, people rarely actually lose consciousness right after they are severely agitated because of drugs or alcohol……that’s in the movies

One too many drinks at altitude-classic skier’s illness.

I agree that he might be ruled out for sickle cell trait/condition since high altitude can have a similar issue. If he is diabetic, that can also maybe cause it – but I would hope he is ruled out on the sc issue, as well.

His one kidney could be messing up. He looks swollen.

Toxicology reports take weeks for autopsies (cadavers) not hospitalizations (living people). So since Tracy Morgan wasn’t being autopsied, his blood could be tested relatively quickly. Unlike some people on this board, I’m willing to believe that Morgan didn’t bribe the hospital into lying on his behalf.

Sounds like low blood sugar. When my grandfather was dying of renal failure due to diabetes, he would have days where his blood sugar would dip, he would start slurring, repeating himself and wondering why everyone was upset, then seem agitated, then he would just fall asleep. I hope Mr. Morgan is ok and has a speedy recovery of whatever was ailing him.

My mom-in-law and I are both diabetic. I have seen her slur her words and seeming to be drunk when her blood sugar is really off. It is hard to function when it is low…I know from experience. I wish people would only comment about what they know…not what they “think”. It doesn’t take weeks to get back blood work on a living person. It takes weeks when someone has died…duh!! I go to my endocronologist and they take blood when I walk in the door. They have the results for me in about 30 minutes!!!

Drinking at high altitude, like in Colorado or on an airplane, will kick you in the booty! Be careful Tracy, next time you might not get up.
