Where Stars Kick Back During Fashion Week

For every over-the-top New York Fashion Week party, there's an oasis. Steps away from the Lincoln Center tents, the Empire Hotel hosted the Lia Sophia jewelry suite, where celebs like Kristin Chenoweth took a break to browse through crystal and gem-encrusted baubles. A few blocks down at Hudson, KeSARI stylists welcomed haggard editors and bloggers to a penthouse suite for blowouts featuring the line's new Indian oil hair serum.

Further downtown, if you looked hard enough, you stumbled on the True Religion suite in the basement of Milk Studios, where Common and other notables tried on the denim line's latest styles and kicked back with a cocktail. There wasn't any cell phone service, so even if someone wanted to entice you away to a crazy dance party, they'd be out of luck. One nighttime event struck a balance, though - at the Hugo Boss Home party Thursday night, DJ-of-the-moment Mia Moretti spun a set that was equal parts invigorating and classy, thanks to the talents of electric violinist Catilin Moe.
