Bobby Brown Charged with Drunken Driving
Bobby Brown was charged with drunken driving today after being arrested on suspicion of DUI on Monday.
Brown was charged three misdemeanors, including two DUI-related counts and one for driving on a suspended license, the Associated Press reported.
Los Angeles city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan told the AP that Brown could face up to six months in jail if convicted. Brown was initially pulled over after authorities reported seeing him talking on a cell phone while driving.
Late Wednesday, Brown's lawyer Chris Brown released a statement regarding the incident, saying his client "was not driving erratically" but " was speaking on his cell phone." He added, "Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously and an investigation is underway. The legal process shall run its course."
Brown's representatives did not immediately respond to ABCNews.com's requests for comment on today's charges.
