The woman accused of breaking into " X-Factor" judge Simon Cowell's London home and hiding in a closet appeared in court today.

Leanne Zaloumis, 29, reportedly looked unkempt during her court appearance, where she was charged with aggravated burglary and trespassing, with the intent to inflict bodily harm with the alleged weapon - a broken brick she had been gripping when she was found in Cowell's closet.

According to reports in the British media, Zaloumis was able to enter Cowell's home by breaking a bathroom window on Saturday night at about 10:30 p.m.

Cowell was at home watching TV.  Reports say he heard a loud noise, investigated and found the intruder, then called his staff, who in turn called police.

The Telegraph reported that officers found "blood marks" in the bathroom.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Cowell's spokesman, Max Clifford said the incident was horrifying.

"It was a very frightening experience for Simon, who told me it was like something from a horror movie," Clifford told The Sun.

Clifford said Cowell "was just very lucky that all she had was a brick. She could have had a knife, a gun or any other weapon."
