Dennis Quaid and his wife, Kimberly Quaid, are divorcing. "We can confirm that Kimberley Quaid has filed for divorce," a representative for the actor told ABCNews.com in an email statement. "Contrary to what has been reported, a satisfactory settlement is being worked out for both parties.  We will not be providing any further information on this private matter."

The "Big Easy" star married Kimberly Quaid in 2004. They have 4-year-old twins together, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. The twins nearly died following their 2007 birth after being given an overdose of heparin at a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The Quaids later sued the hospital and drug manufacturer and won $750,000.

TMZ.com reports that Kimberly Quaid's divorce petition an "insupportable" marriage due to "discord or conflict of personalities." According to TMZ, she is asking for spousal support and attorney's fees.

This is Quaid's third divorce. The 57-year-old actor divorced Meg Ryan in 2001 and actress P.J. Soles in 1983.
