Nick Lachey and his wife, Vanessa (Minnillo) Lachey, are having a baby.  Lachey announced the news of his first child on  "Live! With Kelly"  Monday.  The couple married in July 2011 and will learn the sex of the baby, due early next fall. They even have names in mind.  If it's a girl, Nick says he likes the name Sophia; Colin or Colin John if it's a boy.

"I've had a chance to do a lot of great things in my career and my life, but this is the one thing that, more than any other, I look forward to. The fact that it's actually here, it's overwhelming," Lachey said on "Live," where he was filling in as co-host.

Nick explained that Minnillo decided to take a pregnancy test  after she appeared  on  "Live!" last month.  Minnillo apparently started to "feel a little different … not like herself," Lachey said.  Lachey  got the news by phone while he was in  the Bahamas.

"I'm here to tell you the stage here is a very fertile place," Lachey joked.
