Jessica Simpson prepped for the demanding role of mom by celebrating with a baby shower this weekend. According to People Magazine, the party was organized by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss and attended by famous moms such as Jessica Alba and Simpson's sister, Ashlee Simpson.

Donning a flowing blue dress for the occasion and sky-high platforms, Simpson was described by one eyewitness as "looking very pretty and happy."  A Simpson pal told People Magazine she is "so excited to be a mom.  She can't wait to meet her baby girl."

This month the 31-year-old singer and judge on "The Fashion Star" revealed to Elle Magazine that she's worried about how much her daughter will take after her fiancé, Eric Johnson.

"I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins," she told Elle. "Eric is so athletic. We're going to have this athletic girl and I won't even be able to take her shopping."

While Simpson and Johnson have remained mum on the baby's name, InTouch reported last week that the pair had decided on the name Maxwell or "Maxi" for short.   According to the magazine, Maxwell is Eric's middle name, and his grandmother's maiden name.
