Deion Sanders' Children At Center of Domestic Dispute
The children of former NFL hall of famer Deion Sanders reportedly saw their mother commit an act of domestic violence Monday night.
The former Dallas Cowboys star tweeted the incident: "Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She's going to jail n I'm pressing charges!"
Pilar Sanders, the estranged wife and mother, was booked in Collin County, Texas, Monday night for misdemeanor family violence, police said. Bond for Pilar is now set at $264. [You can look up Pilar Sanders on the Collins County website. Type in "Sanders." ]
While it is not clear what happened exactly on Monday night, Deion insists via Twitter that he did not fight back: "Strength is not only based on what u can lift, push, pull, press, carry, hold or squat. Its also measured by WHAT U CAN WALK AWAY FROM! Truth."
The New York Daily news has posted pictures of previously tweeted photos by Deion showing the Sanders children signing papers in a group. The newspaper said Sanders tweeted the photos with the caption: "filling out police reports now! Thank God for this platform to issue the Truth." The photos are now gone from Deion's twitter profile.
The couple was married in 1999 and Deion filed for divorce against Pilar last year.
Last month Pilar filed a $200 million defamation lawsuit against her husband for calling her a "gold diggin' h*e" on Twitter. Deion defends himself against those allegations by insisting that he wasn't lying and that his statement shouldn't be considered libel if there was any truth to his words.
Pilar has accused Deion of cheating on her with entertainment producer Tracey Edmonds.
The couple was reportedly still living together before the dispute.
