Ricki Lake on 'Dancing With the Stars' Kiss, Her Wedding, Book

"Dancing With the Stars" alum Ricki Lake weighed in on that controversial kiss on the dance floor last night between her former pro partner Derek Hough and "Extra" co-host Maria Menounos.

"Derek did not put one on my lips … I'm jealous," Lake joked on " Good Morning America" today about the smooch Hough planted on Menounos during their saucy salsa. "I think they're a hot couple. Whether it's happening off the ballroom floor, I don't know, but they look great together. I hate to admit it because Derek is mine, he's mine."

With Hough as her partner, Lake, 43, made it to the finals on season 13 of the hit ABC show, and pushed herself to a level of competition she never expected. She also dropped serious pounds in the process.

"Dancing With the Stars" was a huge part of this journey.  … It was life-changing that experience," said Lake, who calls herself a "'Dancing With the Stars' freak" and credits the show for her most recent slim down.

"I'm not in the shape I was when I did 'Dancing With the Stars.' You can't sustain that, doing six hours a day of dancing seven days of week, you can't maintain that. I'm a healthy size and I have to love myself every day. I'm working on it. I'm getting better and better."

Since making her star turn in the 1988 hit movie "Hairspray," the actress and TV host has been open about her weight struggles, tipping the scales at 260 pounds, before dropping nearly half her body weight, and has spoken out candidly about her struggles in the love department.

Now, the newlywed star has put it all in a revealing, new memoir, "Never Say Never: Finding a Life That Fits."

"This is me putting it all out there … I'm grateful for all the life experiences. The good, the bad, it's all made me who I am today," she said. "I'm very grateful at this time in my life that things seem to be falling into place."

For Lake, who just eloped with her boyfriend Christian Evans, 40, in a surprise wedding April 8 on the beach in California, the intimate ceremony was a true happily-ever-after moment.

"It was a week ago and I am so, so happy to be with him," she said. "Better late than never."

The couple managed to keep the intimate ceremony a secret from the press. It was just the two of them, and their two dogs were the only guests. Her two sons from her previous marriage were not present.

"I have the biggest mouth. I'm someone who shares everything. I wear everything on my sleeve," she said, but "I wanted it to be for us. It's my second marriage … and we just wanted it to be intimate."

Lake divorced her first husband, Rob Sussman, and the father of her two sons in 2005. After a painful divorce, Lake said she never thought she'd get married again.

"I was that cynical woman…I was married for ten years, and my divorce was not an easy one. I didn't believe in love forever and ever, again. It took me meeting Christian," she said.

"Two years ago if you asked me if I would ever do 'Dancing With the Stars,' I would had said never. I said, 'Would you ever get married again?' Never. 'Would you ever do a talk show again?' Never, and all three of those things are happening, so I'm eating crow and happily, happily."

Nearly 20 years after the "Hairspray" star landed her first talk show, Lake will return to TV as host of a new daytime show this fall - one she hopes will benefit from her life experience.

"I've been divorced, my children are growing, I feel like I know myself so much more than I did back then and I'm hoping that the show will reflect that," she said.
