Lindsay Lohan Hospitalized After Car Crash
Lindsay Lohan was hospitalized after her Porsche collided with an 18-wheeler, authorities said.
Lohan rear-ended a dump truck while driving northbound on the Pacific Coast Highway this afternoon, Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis said in a news release.
Lohan and her male assistant, who was in the passenger seat, were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. She complained of pain and her assistant had a "minor injury," according to cops.
"Lindsay was involved in an automobile accident today on her way to the set. She was brought to Santa Monica UCLA hospital as a precaution. She is fine and was released less than two hours later and is already headed back to the set to resume work. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident," Lohan's representative Steve Honig said in a statement.
The driver of the truck was not injured. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.
A picture posted on TMZ shows the black Porsche elevated on a flatbed, with significant damage to the windshield and front of the car. TMZ was told the 25-year-old actress "seems OK" and doctors are performing tests.
