Madonna released "Vogue" in 1990, but it wasn't until this week that a record company decided to sue her for allegedly using unauthorized samples in her hit song.

According to TMZ.com, the company, VMG Salsoul, contends in its lawsuit that it should have received compensation for Madonna allegedly borrowing horn and string samples from a 1977 dance song by Salsoul Orchestra titled "Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It)."

VMG Salsoul argues that it became aware of the samples only after new technology detected them.

The company seeks unspecified damages.
