Making Cents of Kate Middleton's Beauty Routine
She has the glossy hair, the flawless makeup and the perfectly manicured nails that always steal the show.
Whether she's courtside at Wimbledon, enjoying a royal concert or on the sidelines at a polo match, Kate Middleton always achieves the impeccable look worthy of the duchess title she claims.

So how does she do it?
While Middleton, 30, is known for mixing high-end designer fashions with frugal fashion picks from mass retailers like Zara and even recycling her clothes - wearing her favorite L.K. Bennett pumps down to the sole, literally - her clothing budget still rang in at $54,000 in just the first six months of 2012 alone.

When it comes to her beauty routine, Middleton's mix of high and low doesn't come cheap either.
First, there's the hair. At her favorite salon, the Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa in London, Middleton is said to make thrice-weekly visits for $75 blowouts. Three visits per week for 52 weeks of the year comes out to a cool $11,700 for just straightening out her long, dark hair. Add in the cost of cuts, color and treatment and the total for Middleton's hair "do" reaches upwards of $18,000.
One thing not hidden behind Middleton's shiny hair is her made-up face. While the duchess favors a natural look, she doesn't wake up looking flawless.
"She wears a long-lasting foundation with a little bit of powder," makeup artist Arabella Preston, who helped style the duchess on her wedding day in April of last year told ABC News. "She has a defined eye, black eyeliner, mascara and a relatively nude lip."
"Always very polished," Preston said of Middleton's go-to look.
Assuming she refreshes her makeup essentials - concealer, tinted foundation, blush, mascara, lip gloss, eyeliner, moisturizer, eyeshadow and lipstick - three times per year, that polished look costs Middleton a pricey $1,200, at least.
Beneath Middleton's polished makeup is her flawless skin that she takes care of by using products from the Swiss brand Karin Herzog, the company's managing director told Style.com. The duchess has also, according to the Daily Mail, tagged along with her mother-in-law, Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker-Bowles, to try the Bee Sting Facial from Deborah Mitchell that, if done monthly, would cost $3,120 per year.
Add in the costs of keeping her nails maintained for handshakes during all of her royal meet-and-greets - an estimated $3,500 per year - and the cost of maintaining her literal royal glow - $2,800 per year on spray tans, according to Yahoo!Shine - and Middleton's annual beauty budget rises to nearly $30,000.
But a duchess can't be expected to pose for royal portraits and be the subject of countless paparazzi photos without a perfect set of pearly white teeth.
For that, Middleton reportedly turned to British orthodontist Dr. Didier Fillion who closed the gap between her two front teeth using 3-D technology that, according to the Daily Mail, may have cost around $7,157 total.
So, when all is said and done, the price of being a duchess isn't cheap. The grand total is a whopping $36,300 to achieve the Kate Middleton royal glow.
