Tom Cruise Leads Paparazzi on High-Speed Chase
Actor Tom Cruise made his action movie career a reality Wednesday when he allegedly led paparazzi on a high-speed chase through Manhattan.
The recently divorced actor, along with his 6-year-old daughter, Suri, led paparazzi on a 20-minute chase through Manhattan's West Side, according to the New York Daily News.
The "Rock of Ages" actor and his daughter left the Greenwich Hotel in Manhattan's Lower West Side in a black Chevy Suburban Wednesday afternoon and headed toward a heliport at 12th Avenue and West 29th Street, blowing through red lights along the way.
At least 10 cars and six motorcyclists and bicyclists followed Cruise as his SUV reached 20 mph beyond the speed limit, according to the Daily News. One van was even pulled over by police.
The chase came just two days after Suri got into a fender bender with her mom, actress Katie Holmes. The pair was traveling on the West Side of Manhattan Monday evening when their chauffeured car was struck by a garbage truck, E! News reported. Neither Holmes nor her daughter were hurt and there was only minor damage to their Mercedes.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old actress was spotted Wednesday heading solo to a spin class in New York City, according to the Daily Mail .
Holmes and Cruise settled their divorce July 9. Suri is their only child.
