Bobby Brown admitted himself into rehab last week, as part of his plea deal following his DUI arrest in March.

“Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the  New Edition tour,” his attorney Christopher Brown told ABCNews.com in a statement. “Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.”

The New Edition singer was arrested for driving under the influence and using his cell phone on a public way without a headset one month after his ex Whitney Houston died. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to probation and ordered to complete a 90-day alcohol education program.

His latest stint in rehab comes less than eight weeks after he wed his second wife,  Alicia Etheredge-Brown, in Hawaii. She has given him her blessing.

“Bobby’s children and loved ones are very proud of him,” Etheredge-Brown, his wife and manager, told ABCNews.com in the statement. “We appreciate his fans’ prayers and well wishes.  Bobby is mentally in a good place.”

Brown has long struggled with alcohol and drug abuse.

Prior to his March arrest, Brown was charged with alcohol and drug-related offenses, and in a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Houston memorably detailed the cocaine and marijuana she and Brown did together. Cocaine was also linked to Houston’s sudden death in February.

But Brown told the “Today” show in May that he was not the reason Houston’s gone. “I didn’t get high [on narcotics] before I met Whitney … I smoked weed and drank beer … but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs,” he said, adding that he hadn’t touched narcotics in seven years.
