Women's Gymnastics Team Gets Tweeted By GaGa, Bieber
What's the best way to get a music superstar to acknowledge your presence on Twitter? Be a gold medal-winning Olympian.
After snagging the gold medal at the London Olympics Tuesday night, the U.S. women's gymnastics team got messages of congratulations from both Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
It all started when team member Jordyn Wieber tweeted, "Now that we are OLYMPIC champions … Can we please meet @justinbieber??" She included her team members' Twitter handles in her tweet.
Next thing she knew, Bieber wrote back, "@jordyn_wieber u support me i support u. congrats… #DREAMBIG."
She replied, "@ justinbieber THANK YOU SO MUCH! #believe."
Justin then tweeted to the entire team, " CONGRATS…on your GOLD MEDAL #BeliebersWinGOLD #Proud."
Later, Wieber tweeted, "That amazing moment when @ justinbieber follows all of us."
But it wasn't just Bieber who got into the act - Lady Gaga was watching too. She tweeted, "Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There's no "I" in team."
A member of the team, McKayla Maroney, tweeted Gaga back, saying, "This team loves you & your music!! I also heard you were a gymnast??"
Gaga responded, "You were brilliant give all the girls a kiss for me. And no I did gymnastics for like a weeks and then dropped out for ballet!" Maroney joked, "Your so amazing I bet you still have a shot at gymnastics! 2016 maybe."
