Lifetime has released new pictures of Lindsay Lohan in the role of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor for the upcoming biopic "Liz and Dick."

Lohan stars as the late actress alongside "True Blood's" Grant Bowler, who plays one of Taylor's many husbands and the man considered the love of her life, Richard Burton. In one picture, Lohan and Bowler embrace as Taylor and Burton.

In another photograph, the actress recreates Taylor's iconic role in the 1963 film "Cleopatra."

Taylor met Burton on the set of the film, and, though they were both married at the time, they began a scandalous love affair. Their turbulent romance would lead to marriage, then divorce, then remarriage and divorce once again.

The film will focus on Taylor and Burton's fiery romance and will show Taylor over several decades, as evidenced by this picture of Lohan as Liz in her later years.
