Sofia Vergara's Son Posts Video of Epic Engagement
Sofia Vergara's engagement was quite the affair. Vergara's son, Manolo Gonzalez, uploaded a video Wednesday recapping the "Modern Family" star's epic 40th birthday weekend in Mexico that featured her longtime boyfriend, Nick Loeb, popping the question.
Gonzalez, 19, chronicled the craziness that ensues when "107 of your family and friends" try to navigate the Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza. (One of those friends: Vergara's "Modern Family" co-star, Julie Bowen.) Vergara's family obtained special access so the actress could climb to the top of the ancient pyramid. "Once they went to the top," Gonzalez says, "my mother's longtime boyfriend proposed." (Vergara's reps have yet to confirm the engagement.)

On their way down, the couple ran into authorities who questioned why they jumped the ropes to get to the top. One suggested Vergara "surrender." She laughed it off. "It would've been funny, sad, but hilarious, if she had gone to a Mexican prison," Gonzalez says.
Cut to the party: at a post -pyramid lunch to celebrate the engagement, Vergara sways, sips, and shows off her ring finger Beyonce-style. Gonzalez says he's looking forward to his mom turning 50. "Who knows where we'll go?," he says. "I'm thinking Cleveland."
